Chile……just breathe!
Whew! This has been a WEEK! Today, I realized the importance of taking time for yourself. I took two weeks off from work in June just to decompress and focus on me. That time gave me clarity, recentered my thoughts, and allowed me to just BE in this world! It was utterly glorious! Do you take time for yourself? Are you afraid to step away from work because work just piles up while you are gone? SO WHAT!!!!!
Take that vacation! Spend time with your loved ones! Do NOTHING! Whatever is going to bring joy to you, GO FOR IT! Cuz, chile! WHEW! This week returning has been A LOT! BUt what I have learned is that A LOT is ok. The work gets done when it is supposed to get done. Tomorrow will always take care of itself. Unless you literally are holding someone’s life in your hands if you don’t act swiftly, give yourself that moment for the thoughtful pause. And that pause doesn’t have to be one second—-it could 5, 10, 60, 1,000, 10,000! Take what you need to ensure you are taking care of YOU!
Let me tell you, the work don’t love you! The work doesn’t satisfy you (stay with me)! The work won’t awlays be there. When you look back over your life when you get to those final years, you won’t remember the deadline you missed, the promotion you didn’t get, the budget you blew, or anything related to the work. Your mind will focus on the meaningful moments where joy, happiness, love, and peace reside.
So take that deep breath! Take 3 (it’s better in 3’s)! Take more if you need more, but just give yourself grace and allow yourself to just be! You know you were looking for a job when you found this one, right? You know you survive the last layoff, or when you had to quit before you got fired, or even when you got fired, right? This too shall pass! And you will wake up tomorrow, take that deep breath and do it all over again……but this time, you learned something! This time, you made yourself better? How? You enjoyed the pause and that deep breath! This time you allowed yourself to be present and you learned, I can make it through this.
